By train, bus, trams, metro within the Netherlands
As an example: how to get from the touristic City Centre to the ArenA:
- Taxis (see below): about 20 minutes (during rush hour maybe 30).
- Public transport: efficient and fast. You will get there within 20-30 min. Ask your hotel reception or check .
- Walking: 1.5 hrs from city center. A windy and not-so touristic walk. NOT recommended.
The best public transport connection to the ArenA is by Train or Metro. Both stop at 'station Bijlmer ArenA'.
To assist you to get to the ArenA, the Amsterdam ArenA has an easy route planner available:

Please ask your hotel to call a taxi for you. We have been warned about the taxis that wait outside Amsterdam Central Station.
You can call TCA/Taxi Centrale Amsterdam on 020-7777777 (7*7). Out on the streets, look for taxis that have the logo of TCA on their roof. They are reliable and usually polite and speak both Dutch and English. We won't go into detail about some other taxi "companies".
Costs for a single fare by taxi ArenA <-> CityCentre (and vice versa): it should be something between 25 and 30 euros.

If you arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol
The best connection from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to the Arena is either by train or taxi.
The ArenA is adjacent to Train Station "Bijlmer ArenA". But direct trains (less than 15 minutes) do not run very frequently. To check the schedules or see other options, please check the (english) route planner for more details: journeyplanner.9292.nl (in Dutch: www.9292.nl)
